Frances Roberts-Gregory is an ecowomanist ethnographer, feminist political ecologist, and Future Faculty Fellow in the School of Public Policy & Urban Affairs at Northeastern University. Her feminist activist research explores how Black and Indigenous women navigate contradictory relationships with energy and petrochemical industries, resist environmental racism, and devise solutions for environmental, energy, and climate justice in Gulf Coast Louisiana. Frances formerly served as an environmental educator for the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice and as a resource developer for the New Orleans and C40 Women4Climate Mentorship Program. As a first-generation doctoral researcher and descendant of Georgia sharecroppers, North Carolina field hands, and New Jersey factory workers, Frances is also proud to have completed her undergraduate studies at Spelman College and graduate research at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a proud Switzer Environmental Fellow, Ford Predoctoral Fellow, NSF Graduate Research Fellow, Gates Millennium Scholar, and former Environmental Fellow with the Environmental Grantmakers Association.

From 2018-2021, Frances taught courses on gender, environmental racism, digital activism, climate justice, and sustainable development at Tulane University, Bard Early College New Orleans, and the University for Peace in Costa Rica. She has spoken at the Berkeley March for Science as well as an UNFCCC COP25 press conference to promote the Feminist Agenda for a Green New Deal. She is a co-founding and advisory board member of the Feminist Agenda for a Green New Deal and an advisory board member of the Hive Fund for Climate & Gender Justice. Finally, she has been interviewed by PBS Newshour, Ms. Magazine, the Ocean Conservancy, and the Alliance for Affordable Energy. Most importantly, Frances looks forward to integrating healing justice into the Feminist Agenda for a Green New Deal Coalition, increasing the representation of grassroots Louisiana women in international climate policy spaces, and mentoring the next generation of radical HBCU and feminist ecological leaders.
