Shelley Kalei Muneoka is a Kanaka Maoli woman, born and raised in Heʻeia Uli in Koʻolaupoko, Oʻahu. She has worked on land and Native Hawaiian cultural rights issues like Mauna Kea for over a decade through KAHEA: The Hawaiian Environmental Alliance. Shelley’s day job at Hā Kūpuna focuses on Native Hawaiian elders, among whom she includes the land and natural elements.
