Since she was a child, Ìyá Stacey Ifáfọláwẹ̀ Fluker has had an affinity for nature and how our bodies are (inter)connected to the Earth and its seasonal and natural cycles. After traveling to Zambia for three years, she returned to the U.S. to pursue a path in alternative, preventative, holistic health and wellness, and became a Licensed Massage Practitioner with a focus on Pregnancy and Prenatal Massage. A few years later, she became a Certified SomaVeda Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner and a Certified Holistic Health Consultant. Ìyá Stacey is also a certified doula with BirthWell Partners in Birmingham, Alabama, and SMC Full Circle Birth Companion Doula.

As a birth companion and while practicing postpartum doula work, Ìyá Ifáfọláwẹ̀ began to notice a disconnect between many women, their bodies, nature, and Earth’s myriad cycles. She developed a series called sacRED MOONtime Sessions®, designed to educate young people about the menstrual cycle; human anatomy and organ systems; our connection to the seasons and moon cycles; and how healing foods, herbs, breath, yoga, meditation, and rest all play a role in building and sustaining a healthy relationship with our bodies and cycles. Ìyá Ifáfọláwẹ̀ has shared these sessions with youth in Ibadan, Nigeria, as well as at home in Alabama.

As a mother of three, Ìyá Ifáfọláwẹ̀ aspires to work with other mothers, daughters, aunts, and grandmothers in her quest to reconnect them to ancient and indigenous traditions and wisdom that may have been forgotten.
