Tosha Phonix is Director of EVOLVE, with the mission of building a community-driven platform that activates the creation of equitable food systems and built environments to support the wellbeing of all St. Louisans.

During the past seven years, she has grown sustainable produce throughout St. Louis, starting her journey as a farm volunteer at Your’s Market, and, in 2014, she collaborated with New Roots Urban Farm to help teach children who suffered from chronic homelessness how to grow their own food. Tosha went on to create her own agriculture organization to connect local black growers with rural farmers throughout Missouri in order to disrupt the food system that plagues North St. Louis City and County and the Metro East – with sustainable food production.

In 2018 Tosha became the Food Justice Organizer for Missouri Coalition for the Environment to work with local communities around food access and created a Food Equity Advisory Board consisting of community members who fight on behalf of food access within Urban Areas. She has recently cofounded EVOLVE to connect and resource black growers throughout St. Louis.
