Storytelling by creating multi-sensory learning environments that build community, increase connection to the natural world, and expand critical thought.
Crystal (she/they) is a Queer, Trans, non-binary mixed-race person of Indigenous and settler descent on the cutting edge of advancing equity at a fundamental level. She leads with a unique perspective, vision, and a fierce drive to challenge entrenched ways of thinking in order to solve social and environmental injustices. Crystal is a polymath who has spent her life turning her passions into a palette of diverse professional disciplines.
As a Coastal Ecosystem & Fisheries Scientist, Storyteller, Audio Engineer, Socio-Environmental Equity Worker, Immersive Experience Designer, Seafood A-fish-ianado, Business Consultant, and Movement & Mindfulness Instructor her life’s work focuses on advocacy and activism at the intersections of science, spirit, story, and sustenance. She believes in harnessing the power of inspiration through artistic expression to create positive and impactful change. Crystal’s lived experiences along with a diversified background in science, research, advocacy, activism, business, and conservation united with a unique ability to quickly analyze complex systems systems and distill them into organized action give her the knowledge and expertise that lay the foundation for a more just world by transcending outdated belief systems that regard environmental health, social justice, and reciprocal economies as mutually exclusive.
A scholar, thought leader, and a perpetual student of life Crystal is in a constant state of unlearning, learning, and evolution while continuously seeking answers to profound, practical (often provocative) questions, and steadily seeking wisdom to guide her in sowing seeds of impactful, tangible, meaningful, and measurable healing of our communities, our land, and our ocean.
Crystal lives and breathes this work every day and to help keep herself centered and grounded she tends to be found climbing 200 feet up in Old Growth Redwood Trees, diving deep under the ocean surface, deepening her mindfulness practice, and playing with her pup and in her garden.
