Roishetta is a native of Ruleville, Mississippi where she graduated in 2003 from Ruleville Central High School. She currently resides in Sulphur, Louisiana where she works as the Clean Energy Organizing Director for Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas with Healthy Gulf. She organizes against the Liquified Natural Gas and Petrochemical industry buildout along the Gulfcoast. She’s a She Leads Fellow for the Power Coalition for Equity and Justice and now works with them as an Environmental Justice Coordinator, where she empowers other women of color to go out into their communities and make positive change. She’s a member of the McNeese Black Alumni Association, a member of National Association of University Women, a Participatory Working Group Member for the Hive Fund and a Town Hall Facilitator for Gulf South For A Green New Deal. Roishetta is the founder, Director and CEO of The Vessel Project of Louisiana–a small mutual aid organization located in Southwest Louisiana that was founded in the aftermath of several disasters that ravished Southwest Louisiana. She’s the founder of Four Black Moms, a Facebook community for black moms. One of ten founders of Black Breastfeeding Mamas Circle, a social media community for teaching the importance of breastfeeding and assisting moms on their breastfeeding journey as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. Above all and most importantly Roishetta is a single of six very special, intelligent, and athletic children whom she loves and adores and who are also the reason for her trying to save the world.
